Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Street Outlaw engaged in this event on 09/07/18 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Valar Morghulis, Ohana Lad and Hashtag Spolly were slow to begin. New Beginings, Street Outlaw and Ayia Sophia collided approaching the first turn checking New Beginings and Ayia Sophia. Ohana Lad failed to pursue the lure approaching the first turn checking Ayia Sophia, New Beginings and Street Outlaw causing Street Outlaw to gallop on Ohana Lad severely checking Street Outlaw, Ohana Lad and Ayia Sophia, Street Outlaw lost considerable ground as a result. New Beginings eased approaching the home turn and failed to pursue the lure severely checking Ohana Lad and Ayia Sophia, Ohana Lad, Ayia Sophia and New Beginings lost many lengths as a result. Ohana Lad eased approaching the winning post checking Ayia Sophia.
Ayia Sophia was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Floyd the trainer of the greyhound Ohana Lad regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn and approaching the winning post. Ohana Lad was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left chest muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Ohana Lad with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Floyd pleaded not guilty to the charge, Ohana Lad was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

New Beginings was vetted following the event and re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle muscle and left sesamoid, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged New Beginings with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Kyriacopoulos pleaded guilty to the charge, New Beginings was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactroy trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
