Valar Morghulis, Ohana Lad and Hashtag Spolly were slow to begin.  New Beginings, Street Outlaw and Ayia Sophia collided approaching the first turn checking New Beginings and Ayia Sophia.  Ohana Lad failed to pursue the lure approaching the first turn checking Ayia Sophia, New Beginings and Street Outlaw causing Street Outlaw to gallop on Ohana Lad severely checking Street Outlaw, Ohana Lad and Ayia Sophia, Street Outlaw lost considerable ground as a result.  New Beginings eased approaching the home turn and failed to pursue the lure severely checking Ohana Lad and Ayia Sophia, Ohana Lad, Ayia Sophia and New Beginings lost many lengths as a result.  Ohana Lad eased approaching the winning post checking Ayia Sophia.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Floyd the trainer of the greyhound Ohana Lad regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn and approaching the winning post.  Ohana Lad was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left chest muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Ohana Lad with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Floyd pleaded not guilty to the charge, Ohana Lad was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Kyriacopoulos the trainer of the greyhound New Beginings regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. New Beginings was vetted following the event and re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left triangle muscle and left sesamoid, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged New Beginings with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Kyriacopoulos pleaded guilty to the charge, New Beginings was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactroy trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Or Right was a late scratching at 5.55pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Where's Lola and Flying Smart were slow to begin.  Flying Smart and Aye Crying Shame collided approaching the first turn checking Aye Crying Shame causing Aye Crying Shame to check off Rico's Amore.  Compounding and Rico's Amore collided on the first turn.  Where's Lola was checked off Rico's Amore approaching the home turn.  Compounding raced wide in the home straight.

Mrs. M. Lithgow the representative for Gojek declared a new weight of 32.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Gojek last raced at 34.9kg.

Banjo's Affair and Magic Trap were slow to begin.  Gojek, Gee Dalton and Lightning Parade collided approaching the first turn checking Gojek and Gee Dalton.  Comets Gold and Shanlyn Bubbles collided approaching the first turn.  Lightning Parade and Comets Gold collided on the first turn.  Comets Gold was checked off Magic Trap on the first turn.  Gojek and Gee Dalton collided on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. C. Haigh regarding the direction that the greyhound Karaka be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Collyer the representative for Night King regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Night King last raced on 12/04/18.  Mr. Collyer stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.  Mr. Collyer declared a new weight of 37.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Night King last raced at 36.0kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Brown the trainer of Rapanui Revival regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Rapanui Revival last raced on 04/03/18.  Mr. Brown stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right back muscle injury.

Mr. B. Harper the trainer of Omega Bonner declared a new weight of 34.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Omega Bonner last raced at 35.8kg.

Ear We Come was quick to begin.  Lucky Omar and Ants In Pants were slow to begin.  Perfect Storm, Omega Bonner and Ants In Pants collided approaching the first turn checking Perfect Storm.  Perfect Storm and White Line Lass collided on the first turn.  Omega Bonner was checked off Aston Halle on the first turn causing Omega Bonner to fall checking Lucky Omar and severely checking White Line Lass and Perfect Storm, White Line Lass and Perfect Storm stumbled and lost ground as a result.  Ants In Pants and Ear We Come collided on the home turn.

Meeting Comments:

Supplementary Report, 11/7/18:

Following Race 8 Stewards received a complaint from trainer Mr. Raymond Floyd regarding the conduct of licensed person Mr. Jason Thompson. Mr. Raymond Floyd reported an alleged incident that occured  in the kennels and outside the kennel building. Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Thompson regarding the  allegations and also viewed the CCTV footage of  the kennels. Stewards also spoke to and took evidence from  registered persons Mr. Graham Brown, Mr. Samuel Tyler & Mr. Robert Conway,  After speaking with all parties Stewards establish that Mr. Thompson‘s comment to Mr. Floyd in the kennels was not acceptable. Stewards subsequently issued a warning to Mr. Thompson regarding his conduct relating to this incident, GAR 86(q).
