An Out of Competition Sample was taken from How's It Burning, engaged in this event on Monday, 9 April 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Sir Badger and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 2:18 pm, due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr Michael Ferguson was fined the sum of $100.
Buckle Up Leo and Cersei were quick to begin. How's It Burning was slow to begin. Superior Martini, First Target, Always Alone and Cersei collided soon after the start. First Target and Always Alone collided approaching the first turn, checking Always Alone. Superior Martini checked off Buckle Up Leo approaching the first turn. How's It Burning, Superior Martini and Cersei collided on the first turn, checking How's It Burning, First Target and Magic Rusty. Always Alone galloped on How's It Burning approaching the home turn, checking How's It Burning.
How's It Burning was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left foreleg stopper. No stand down period was imposed.
