Steward's Report
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 30 seconds to allow the Lure Driver to reposition the lure into the correct starting position. Stewards spoke to lure driver, Mr S.Baldwin and reminded him of his responsibilities.
Daintree Prinz was slow to begin. Kraken Daisy checked off Lady Simmeron soon after the start and collided with Mowgli. Mowgli and Uncle Bump collided approaching the first turn checking Uncle Bump. Kraken Daisy checked off Mowgli approaching the first turn. Lady Simmeron checked off Archer's Will on the first turn. Mowgli and Archer's Will collided on the first turn checking Lady Simmeron, Archer's Will and Whalephant. Uncle Bump checked off Whalephant approaching the home turn checking Daintree Prinz. Lady Simmeron and Whalephant collided on the home turn. Whalephant eased and looked inwards entering the home straight. Lady Simmeron and Uncle Bump collided in the home straight.
Archer's Will was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Whalephant was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle and left back muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr S. Divers, the Trainer of Whalephant. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Whalephant with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Divers pleaded guilty to the charge, Whalephant was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton Track and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
