Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Annasay.
Annasay and Poppy Pete collided soon after the start. Afire Love and Annasay collided soon after the start, checking Afire Love. Kimani, Sable Sass and Krupa collided soon after the start, checking all three greyhounds. Krupa, Kimani and Poppy Pete collided soon after the start, checking Kimani and Poppy Pete. Krupa and Cindeen Jates collided approaching the first turn, checking Cindeen Jates. Annasay and Afire Love collided approaching the first turn, checking Afire Love. Poppy Pete and Afire Love collided approaching the first turn, checking Afire Love. Kimani, Sable Sass and Miss Darlo collided approaching the first turn, checking Kimani and Sable Sass. Annasay and Cindeen Jates collided on the first turn. Afire Love raced wide on the first turn. Kimani eased on the second turn.
Afire Love was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg wrist, right foreleg deltoid and trapezius muscle, and right hindleg hip injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms Jeanette Imlach, the trainer of the greyhound Kimani, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn. Kimani was vetted and re-vetted following event six. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right foreleg deltoid and trapezius muscles, a seven day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Kimani with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Imlach pleaded guilty to the charge, Kimani was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
