Steward's Report
Spring Bomber was a late scratching at 12:50pm due to an injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Pre-race samples were taken from Light The Track and Mepunga Debbie upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Crash Cobra was slow to begin.
Nicky Neo checked off Black Impala on the first turn checking Crash Cobra and severely checking Nicky Neo and Sisco Ride causing Sisco Ride to fall. Black Impala and Go Seek Fernando collided entering the front straight. Light The Track checked off Go Seek Fernando on the seocnd turn checking Black Impala. Crash Cobra marred Light The Track on the home turn. Crash Cobra veered out and marred Light The Track in the home straight.
Nicky Neo was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Sisco Ride was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right saddle soreness, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Crash Cobra was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left sesamoid, left monkey muscle, left and right trapezius injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Mark Giddings, the trainer of the greyhound Crash Cobra regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Crash Cobra with marring. Mr Giddings pleaded guilty to the charge, Crash Cobra was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
