Cersei was quick to begin.  Tarquin Bob and Gunmetal Liam were slow to begin.  Peaked and Dr. Sparkles collided soon after the start.  Peaked crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Fawn Secrets, Destiny's Child and Dr. Sparkles; causing Tarquin Bob and Gunmetal Liam to collide.  Fawn Secrets and Destiny's Child collided entering the back straight.  Tarquin Bob and Gunmetal Liam collided in the back straight.  Fawn Secrets and Destiny's Child collided on the second turn.  Dr. Sparkles checked off Tarquin Bob on the second turn.  Fawn Secrets crossed to the outisde on the second turn, checking Destiny's Child and Gunmetal Liam.  Dr. Sparkles checked off Destiny's Child approaching the home turn.  Gunmetal Liam checked off Fawn Secrets approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Aaron Farley, the trainer of Red Octane, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Red Octane last raced on 13 November 2017 and is returning to racing following a right shoulder injury.

Acer and Amber's Romance were quick to begin and collided soon after the start.  Tail Inspector was slow to begin.  Rocketing Ruby crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Darcon Flash, Banjo Braxton and Red Octane; Amber's Romance, Woodleigh Guy and Darcon Flash collided as a result, checking Amber's Romance, and severely checking Woodleigh Guy.  Acer and Rocketing Ruby collided approaching the first turn.  Red Octane and Tail Inspector collided on the first turn.  Red Octane raced wide approaching the second turn.  Darcon Flash checked off Woodleigh Guy approaching the second turn and collided with Rocketing Ruby, checking Red Octane, severely checking Darcon Flash and Rocketing Ruby; Rocketing Ruby stumbled as a result.  Tail Inspector checked off Rocketing Ruby on the second turn.  Amber's Romance and Banjo Braxton collided several times from the second turn to the third turn, checking Banjo Braxton.  Darcon Flash and Rocketing Ruby raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards noted that the muzzle of Parie Shiraz was caught in the greyhound's mouth during the running of the event.

Laurentide Ice was a late scratching at 3:05 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a right toe injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Oakmont Whisper.

Oakmont Whisper and Dr Watson were slow to begin.  Emilia Mel and Machiko collided soon after the start.  Machiko checked off Emilia Mel on the first turn.  Zebo Bale checked off Buzz Rash on the first turn.  Machiko checked off Buzz Rash on the second turn and collided with Dr Watson.

Evie Louise and Iggy Wiggy were slow to begin.  Sapphire Hawke crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Hello Mr Duck, Kayla Las, Grey Magic and Where's Marcia.  Hello Mr Duck galloped on Evie Louise approaching the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds.  Sapphire Hawke and Iggy Wiggy collided on the first turn.  Hello Mr Duck and Where's Marcia collided several times from the first turn until the home turn.  Hello Mr Duck checked off Sapphire Hawke in the home straight.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Dashing Diamond and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 2:44 pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr Dean Jeffries was fined the sum of $100.

A pre-race sample was taken from Rooey.

Two Toes Tony was slow to begin.  Shiro and All About Arby collided on the first turn, checking Rooey, Dr Toretto and Two Toes Tony, and severely checking Special Member.  Rooey checked off Two Toes Tony on the second turn, checking Special Member.  Special Member checked off Two Toes Tony on the home turn and collided with Amaroo Gonzales.  Rooey raced wide on the home turn.

Rooey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Spazzy Blue was a late scratching at 3:18 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a right wrist injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Zafonic Express.

This race started approximately two minutes late after there was a delay with the stir-up.

Flowering Rose and Cash Ownley collided soon after the start.  Rozehill Beth and Daisy Patch collided approaching the first turn.  Rozehill Beth, Daisy Patch and Zafonic Express collided on the first turn, checking Daisy Patch, Rozehill Beth, Bomber Lane and Cash Ownley.  Flowering Rose and Zafonic Express collided approaching the home turn, checking Flowering Rose.  Daisy Patch checked off Flowering Rose approaching the home turn, checking Bomber Lane.  Rozehill Beth and Cash Ownley collided on the home turn.

Flowering Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the inside of the right knee.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards reminded the Lure driver, Mr S Maloney of his responsibilities to ensure that there is no delay in starting the lure when kennel staff activate the green light for the stir-up. Stewards referred the incident to the appropriate manager. 

Stewards spoke to Ms Susan Northway, the trainer of Zipping Faith, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Zipping Faith last raced on 2 November 2017 and is returning to racing following a foot condition.

Mr Pasquale Derubeis, trainer of Redefined, declared a new weight of 27.9 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Redefined last raced at 29.1 kgs. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Ninetymile Holly.

No Guarantees checked off Redefined approaching the first turn.  Redefined and Walt's Star collided approaching the first turn.  Mandela Sun and Able Bess collided approaching the first turn.  Mandela Sun, Able Bess, Redefined and Ninetymile Holly collided on the first turn.  Redefined checked off Ninetymile Holly on the first turn, checking No Guarantees.  Zipping Faith and Mandela Sun collided on the home turn.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Seaton Star trialled over the 315m from box one, weight 28.6 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 18:35, the greyhound won by a margin of 8.5 lengths.  Seaton Star was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers removed) - Siver Lightning trialled over the 315m from box three, weight 26.8 kgs, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 18:35, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.25 lengths.  Siver Lightning was Cleared To Race without blinkers.
