Supplementary Report from Sandown 11 March 2018.

At the Geelong Greyhound Racing Club today being 16 March 2018, GRV Stewards opened an inquiry with Trainer Ms Deborah White after an unlicensed person Mr Brian Vietch handled Fawn Secrets at Sandown on 11 March 2018. After hearing submissions from Ms White, the Stewards issued a charge to Ms White under GAR 101 (2) in that she permitted an unlicensed person, namely Mr Vietch to handle Fawn Secrets at Sandown Park Greyhounds on Sunday 11 March 2018. Ms White  pleaded guilty to the charge. When determining penalty, stewards took into consideration Ms White's good record, the guilty plea, that Mr Vietch was licensed in a suitable capacity until recently and that Ms White was seemingly unaware of his unlicensed status. Against these factors, stewards considered the need for general deterance and the potentially serious nature of unlicensed persons acting in an official capacity on racedays. The Stewrads imposed a fine of $200, with $100 of that suspended pending no further breaches of this rule within 12 months from today.

Black Zambesi was slow to begin.  Limburg Will and Ample Warning collided soon after the start.  Rocketing Ruby and Gypsy Kiowa collided soon after the start.  Rocketing Ruby and Greedy Grebe collided approaching the first turn, checking Rocketing Ruby, and severely checking Gypsy Kiowa, Greedy Grebe, Limburg Will and Fawn Secrets.  Rocketing Ruby and Black Zambesi collided on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr Brian Vietch, regarding his attempt to handle Fawn Secrets whilst his registration was inactive.  Stewards charged Mr Vietch with a breach of GAR 28(4) in that he attempted to handle the greyhound when unauthorised.   Mr Vietch pleaded not guilty to the charge.  Mr Vietch was found guilty and fined the sum of $250.

Stewards opened an enquiry into Ms Deborah White, trainer of Fawn Secrets, permitting an unlicensed person to handle the greyhound in race one at Sandown, Sunday 11 March 2018, pursuant to GAR 101(2)(b).  Stewards adjourned this enquiry for a date to be fixed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Tyche Onyx, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.

Celestial Jewel was quick to begin.  Uringa was slow to begin.  Limburg Patrick was very slow to begin (3L).  Celestrial Jewel, Notorious King and Tyche Onyx collided soon after the start, checking all three greyhounds.  Notorious King and Uringa collided approaching the first turn, checking Uringa.  Notorious King and Uringa collided on the first turn, checking Uringa.  Tyche Onyx, Uringa and Limburg Sprite collided on the third turn, checking Tyche Onyx and Uringa, and severely checking Limburg Sprite.

A pre-race sample was taken from Titanium Boy.

Romany Girl and Savannah Ash were slow to begin.  Titanium Boy and Wok Fried Yabby collided soon after the start.  Junior Wizard and Kloss collided soon after the start, checking Junior Wizard.  Aston Abbott and Titanium Boy collided in the front straight and approaching the first turn.  Royal Solo raced wide on the first turn, checking Romany Girl and Savannah Ash.  Savannah Ash and Romany Girl collided approaching the second turn.  Aston Abbott and Royal Solo collided entering the back straight, checking Royal Solo.  Romany Girl and Savannah Ash collided entering the back straight.  Savannah Ash checked off Royal Solo in the back straight, checking Romany Girl.  Titanium Boy checked off Royal Solo approaching the home turn.  Savannah Ash, Royal Solo and Titanium Boy collided on the home turn.  Romany Girl and Royal Solo collided entering the home straight.

Mood Swings was slow to begin.  Mood Swings and Caitlyn Keeping collided soon after the start, checking Mood Swings and causing Mood Swings to be stumble as a result.  Caitlyn Keeping crossed to the inside soon after the start and checked off High Water.  Liberty Tron and Gracie's Colour collided approaching the first turn.  Marcus Daking, Sweet Sparkle and Liberty Tron collided on the first turn, checking Marcus Daking and Sweet Sparkle.  Marcus Daking and Sweet Sparkle collided approaching the second turn, checking Sweet Sparkle.  Liberty Tron and Gracie's Colour collided approaching the second turn, checking Gracie's Colour.  Mood Swings checked off Sweet Sparkle entering the back straight.

Mood Swings was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg deltoid muscle injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Doc's Reward and Magical Bling were quick to begin.  Bronelly Jet and Trim City were slow to begin.  Raise The Bet, Doc's Reward and Magical Bling collided on the first turn, checking Rainbow Ruby, Magical Bling and Doc's Reward.  Power Sensation and Vanishka collided on the first turn.  Bronelly Jet checked off Vanishka on the first turn and collided with Trim City, causing Trim City to fall.  Doc's Reward and Vanishka collided on the first turn.  Vanishka and Rainbow Ruby collided in the back straight.  

Magical Bling was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Trim City was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg wrist injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Brad Greenough, the trainer of Party Every Day, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Party Every Day last raced on 16 November 2017.  Mr Greenough stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennels.

Just Blacky checked off Base Camp soon after the start, checking Just Blacky, and causing Just Blacky to lose ground.  Prince Mikado and Party Every Day collided soon after the start.  Just Blacky contacted the running rail approaching the first turn, causing the greyhound to stumble, race wide and lose ground as a result. Prince Mikado and Party Every Day collided on the first turn checking Party Every Day. Dance Craze checked off Dance And Sing approaching the second turn.  Party Every Day and Base Camp collided on the second turn.  Party Every Day and Veracity collided entering the back straight.  Dance Craze and Base Camp collided entering the back straight.  Prince Mikado and Veracity collided in the back straight.  Dance Craze checked off Dance And Sing on the third turn.  Party Every Day checked off Base Camp approaching the home turn.  Veracity checked off Party Every Day approaching the home turn.

Just Blacky was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Allen Lottery and Faithful Hill collided soon after the start.  Magenta Gold and Light The Track collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Allen Lottery checked off Le Baz on the second turn.  Allen Lottery and Light The Track collided approaching the third turn, checking both greyhounds.  Light The Track checked off Allen Lottery in the back straight, causing Light The Track and Magenta Gold to collide.  Light The Track and Magenta Gold collided on the fourth turn.

Henderson, Smudger Smiff and Resplando were slow to begin.  Two Dollar Pots and Bont's Magic collided on the first turn, checking Two Dollar Pots.  Bont's Magic and Resplando collided on the first turn.  Smudger Smiff and Two Dollar Pots collided on the first turn, checking Two Dollar Pots.  Henderson checked off Khaleesi Girl on the third turn.  Bont's Magic checked off No Passengers approaching the home turn.

My Hardaway Hana crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Porscha's Girl and Lylah's Way collided soon after the start.  My Hardaway Hana, Jacey Allen and Dyna Yami collided approaching the second turn, checking Jacey Allen and Dyna Yami.  Porscha's Girl checked off Lady Mikado in the back straight, causing Porscha's Girl to stumble and lose ground as a result.  Dyna Zad and Lady Mikado collided on the third turn.  My Hardaway Hana and Dyna Yami collided entering the home straight.
