A pre-race sample was taken from Don Quixote.
Zipping Hazel was quick to begin. Nicky Jo went up with the lids at box rise and lost ground.
Good Golly Wally and Mick McKenley collided approaching the first turn, checking Mick McKenley which lost ground and tailed off. Good Golly Wally checked off Railway Burra on the first turn, checking Nicky Jo. Don Quixote checked off Zipping Hazel approaching the home turn. Good Golly Wally raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
Mick McKenley was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.
