An Out of Competition Sample were taken from Mossimo Bale, Immen Bale and Up Hill Jill (scratched) engaged in this event on 8 February 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from He Shall Johnny engaged in this event on 9 February 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Mossimo Bale was ill shortly after being kennelled, the greyhound was subsequently re-vetted and passed fit to run.
Pre-race samples were taken from Monster Fish and Jesaulenko.
He Shall Johnny, Poke The Bear and Immen Bale were slow to begin. Reckoning and Maurice Minor collided approaching the first turn, checking Reckoning, Maurice Minor and Immen Bale; causing Immen Bale to contact the running rail. Mossimo Bale, Poke The Bear and Jesaulenko collided on the first turn. Maurice Minor and He Shall Johnny collided on the first turn, checking He Shall Johnny, and severely checking Maurice Minor which raced wide as a result. Poke The Bear and Jesaulenko collided several times from approaching the second turn to the back straight, checking both greyhounds.
