Parnassus was quick to begin. Aston Typhoon and Lose My Number were slow to begin.
Demure (severely checked in the back straight and checked approaching the first turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey and left back muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. David Franklin regarding the racing manners of Demure in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Franklin, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
