Zipping Simmo and Nangar Warrior were slow to begin. Zipping Simmo faltered soon after the start and tailed off as a result. Johnny's Return and Quedos collided at the 300m mark. Quedos checked off the Down Mexico Way at the 300m mark. Quedos and Boof's Banjo collided at the 250m mark. Quedos checked off Johnny's Return at the 200m mark. Quedos tired over the concluding stages.
Zipping Simmo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left gracilis (back) muscle. A 28-day stand down period was imposed.
