An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Right Now, engaged in this event, on Monday 16 October, pursuant to GAR 79A.

Major Bill, Heat Up and Right Now collided soon after the start, checking Heat Up. Major Bill, Rosacky Blitz and Sleeping Sick collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Sleeping Sick. Wet And Wild, Showin' Attitude and Chief Mingo collided on the first turn, checking Showin' Attitude. Wet And Wild and Chief Mingo collided on the first turn, checking Wet And Wild. Sleeping Slick and Right Now raced wide entering the home straight. Heat Up and Rosacky Blitz collided in the home straight.

Heat Up was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hamstright. A 21-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards discussed the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight with trainer's representative, Mr Brendan Arrandale, but on the evidence from the veterinarian and Mr Arrandale, were satisfied that no further action was required at this time.
