Whiskey Rose was quick to begin.
Good Golly Wally and Branded Man collided soon after the start, checking Branded Man. Zetella and Branded Man collided on the first turn, checking Branded Man. Whiskey Rose galloped on the heels of Cobber Victorem on the home turn, checking Cobber Victorem, Whiskey Rose and Toffee Lady. Branded Man and Badelaide Road collided several times entering the home straight.
Black Lotus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain of the left wrist. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
