Stewards spoke to Mr Graham Julian, the handler of Abba's Hit, in accordance with GAR46(2) for his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing; Mr Julian pleaded guilty and Stewards applied a fine of $50.  

Gotta Be Better and Panda Rebel collided on the first turn, checking Panda Rebel, Tiza Fabio and Avatar Gracie. Dyna Kenta checked off the heels of Gotta Be Better on the first turn.

Serendipity Gem was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.

Subconscious was quick to begin. Hyper Jet and Vanda Mick were slow to begin.

Vanda Mick and Ultimate Impulse collided soon after the start, checking Ultimate Impulse and Silver Roo. Hyper Jet and Ultimate Impulse collided approaching the first turn, checking Ultimate Impulse. Evil Pedro raced wide in the back straight. Rave On and Talbragar River collided approaching the home turn, checking Talbragar River and Hyper Jet. Silver Roo checked off Talbragar River early in the home straight.

Ultimate Impulse was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right pectineus (groin) muscle and an abrasion to the left hind foot. A three-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Ms Kathryn Bentley, the trainer of Ultimate Impulse, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the first turn.

Whiskey Rose was quick to begin.

Good Golly Wally and Branded Man collided soon after the start, checking Branded Man. Zetella and Branded Man collided on the first turn, checking Branded Man. Whiskey Rose galloped on the heels of Cobber Victorem on the home turn, checking Cobber Victorem, Whiskey Rose and Toffee Lady. Branded Man and Badelaide Road collided several times entering the home straight.

Black Lotus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain of the left wrist. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Good Golly Wally, the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from We Wish; a post-race sample was subsequently collected from the greyhound which was the winner of the event.

All Inn Layla was a late scratching at 3:18PM due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28-day stand down period was imposed.

Barnie's Blaster and Onya Sami were quick to begin.

Proven Legacy checked off Corleone King on the first turn and collided with Billiluna and Lance Lomar, checking Proven Legacy and Lance Lomar. Proven Legacy and Cosmic Polly collided several times approaching the home turn and on the home turn, checking both greyhounds.

Tunisian and All Inn Tara collided several times soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Good Humour and Groucho collided on the first turn, checking Groucho. Ninth Brigade and Scott Dynamism collided on the first turn, checking Scott Dynamism. Tunisian and Sonny's Tas collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Sonny's Tas and Groucho collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Tunisian and Ninth Brigade collided entering the home straight. Scott Dynamism and Sonny's Tas collided early in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Allen Dynamo was a late scratching at 12:55pm due to diarrhoea (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Gotham Queen, Print The Money and Unite Bale collided soon after the start, checking Print The Money. Zebo Bale and Unite Bale collided on the first turn, checking Unite Bale. Unite Bale checked off Zebo Bale approaching the home turn. Tat Toby and Amigo collided on the home turn, checking Amigo which contacted the running rail as a result. Unite Bale checked off Tat Toby approaching the winning post.

Avatar Djay was slow to begin.

Supa Pass and Cosmo Lass collided approaching the first turn, checking Cosmo Lass. Orleans, Supa Pass, Jaimandy Tracey, Bacardi Breezer and Kid Ringo collided on the first turn, checking Orleans and severely checking Zip Zip Anna and Avatar Djay. Kid Ringo and Jaimandy Tracey collided approaching the home turn, checking Jaimandy Tracey. Avatar Djay and Orleans collided several times in the home straight, checking both greyhounds. Zip Zip Anna was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.

Right Now was slow to begin.

Murrabit Betty checked off Fizzy Bale approaching the first turn. Right Now raced wide on the home turn. Star Desire, Major Bill and July Allen collided approaching the winning post.

Ms M.Shaw handler of Jockey Bale declared a new weight of 31.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39 (2). Jockey Bale last raced at 33.6kg.

Paula's Delight was quick to begin.

Chrissy Pee and Uni Allen collided on the first turn, checking Uni Allen. Chrissy Pee and Get The Gaff collided on the first turn, checking Get The Gaff. Hanga and Chrissy Pee collided approaching the home turn, checking Hanga. Speed Alert raced wide on the home turn.

Mr G Connell, handler of Stylish Chief, declared a new weight of 34.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Stylish Chief last raced at 32.3kg.

Pre-race samples were taken from Sunningdale and Budge.

Winlock Bird and Budge were slow to begin.

Bagpipes Billy checked off Colluding approaching the first turn. Winlock Bird galloped on the heels of Sunningdale on the first turn, checking Winlock Bird. Stylish Chief and Rosette collided entering the home straight, checking both greyhounds.

Samples were taken from Stylish Bree (winner), Colluding (second place-getter), Rosette, Bagpipes Billy, Stylish Chief and Winlock Bird (all unplaced).

MEETING COMMENTS:

Track Curator Mr M Coventry advised stewards that the track was medium harrowed on 19 September, 2017. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - All Inn Genghis trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 34.0kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.59, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.25L. All Inn Genghis was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Arden Emgrand trialled over the 450m from box four, weight 35.9kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.52, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25L. Arden Emgrand was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Paul Donohue, the trainer of Jaimandy Maureen, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Jaimandy Maureen last raced on 6 March 2017. Mr Donohue stated that the greyhound had a left monkey muscle injury and season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Jaimandy Maureen trialled over the 450m from box eight, weight 28.2kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 25.52, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.75L. Jaimandy Maureen was cleared.
