The start of this event was delayed by approximately 5.5 minutes to allow for remedial works to rectify a malfunction with the lure cable.
Middle Trucker and Optima Semper were quick to begin.
Optima Semper crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Violet Sky and severely checking Middle Trucker which checked Dashin Dayz as a result. Violet Sky and Optima Semper collided on the first turn, checking Crackerjack Jim, Tru Blu Keats and Optima Semper, and severely checking Violet Sky; Crackerjack Jim raced wide as a result. Middle Trucker galloped on Dashin Dayz on the first turn.
Middle Trucker was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left hamstring. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
