Coyote was a late scratching at 10.42am on the advice of GRV's Veterinary Surgeon due to swelling to the right carpal joint.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Lieu Knee Annie went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Jamie's Rocket and Leiu Knee Annie collided soon after the start. Don's Queen and Tansy Girl collided soon after the start. Rhiannon Royale crossed to the rail approaching the 250mtr mark checking Tansy Girl, Don's Queen, Leiu Knee Annie and Rhiannon Royale. Don's Queen and Rhiannon Royale collided at the 200mtr mark and again at the 100mtr mark. Just Blacky faltered approaching the winning post.

Just Blacky was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 5; it was reported that the greyhound sustained swelling and inflammation to the right radius, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs. C. Cortese the representative for Trainer D. Cortese regarding the manner in which Just Blacky raced apprpoaching the winning post. After taking into consideration the injury sustained to the greyhound; it was directed that Mrs. Cortese seek a follow-up Veterinary Consultation within 3 days as recommended by the on track Veterinary Surgeon. Stewards took no further action.

Our Rocket was slow to begin. Terrigal Tornado and Regal Tycoon collided soon after the start. Flying Vulcan crossed to the outside soon after the start and collided with Our Rocket. Ice Cold Yug and Gala Rose collided at the 300mtr mark. Terrigal Tornado and Regal Tycoon collided at the 300mtr mark. Flying Vulcan and Gala Rose collided several times from approaching the 250mtr mark to the 200mtr mark checking Gala Rose. Ice Cold Yug and Amlin Rosie collided at the 200mtr mark. Terrigal Tornado galloped on Regal Tycoon at the 150mtr mark checking both greyhounds. Ice Cold Yug and Amlin Rosie collided at the 150mtr mark and again at the 100mtr mark. Flying Vulcan and Terrigal Tornado collided several times from approaching the 100mtr mark to approaching the winning post. Gambler's Loot checked off Ice Cold Yug at the 100mtr mark. Ice Cold Yug and Amlin Rosie collided approaching the winning post.

It Is Done crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Hartley Matt and How Good She. How Good She and Hartley Matt collided at the 300mtr mark. Roberts and It Is Done collided collided at the 250mtr mark. Blue Pepper and Hartley Matt collided at the 150mtr mark. Roberts and It Is Done collided at the 150mtr mark. Hartley Matt checked off Blue Pepper approaching the 50mtr mark. Roberts and It Is Done collided at the 50mtr mark. 

This race was momentarily delayed after the muzzle of Here's Tiger became displaced when the greyhound was being boxed, resulting in the muzzle having to be re-adjusted.

Stewards spoke to Mr G Johnson, the trainer of Blue Deception, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Blue Deception last raced at Healesville on 7 May, 2017.  Mr Johnson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a spelling period.

Here's Tiger, Double The Magic and Blue Deception collided soon after the start. Blue Deception checked off Double The Magic at the 250mtr mark. Longshot Glory and Nick collided apporoaching the 200mtr mark checking Nick. Nick, Blue Deception and Grey Grouse collided approaching the 150mtr mark. Gypsy Marlow and Here's Tiger collided approaching the 150mtr mark. Longshot Glory crossed out at the 100mtr mark checking Here's Tiger, Grey Grouse, Gypsy Marlow and severely checking Nick. Grey Grouse crossed to the rail approaching the 50mtr mark and collided with Here's Tiger.

Stewards spoke to Mr R Anchen, the trainer of What Stopping Ya, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  What Stopping Ya last raced at Bendigo on 15 July, 2017.  Mr Anchen stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a spelling period.

Stewards spoke to Mr R Busuttil, the trainer of Mizuki, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Mizuki last raced at Taralgon on 30 June, 2017.  Mr Busuttil stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following recuperation of a right achilles tendon injury.

Mr T Salpigtis was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card and weight card were produced for Perfect Rider (GAR 33).

Boo Star, Lido's Boy and Whats Stopping Ya collided soon after the start. Lido's Boy and Rare Scents collided approaching the 150mtr mark. Lido's Boy crossed out at the 100mtr mark checking Mizuki and Perfect Rider. 

Blackjack's Back was slow to begin. Blucifer stumbled at box rise. Blucifer, Dontron and Grooven Chris collided soon after the start. Rellim Diesel and Grooven Chris collided at the 300mtr mark. Sargent checked off Grooven Chris at the 100mtr mark. 

Standing Bear and Rapanui Rebel were slow to begin. Dyna Zaynabi and Fear Fire collided soon after the start. Massive Attack crossed in soon after the start and collided with Sublime Sull and Hide The Wallet. Sublime Sull checked off Massive Attack at the 300mtr mark and collided with Standing Bear and Rapanui Rebel. Hide The Wallet and Massive Attack collided approaching the winning post.

Galaxy Star and Ernie's Legacy were slow to begin. Don's Machine, Dodge Ball, Pomp Fiction and Miss Kirteish collided soon after the start checking Dodge Ball. Cullquin Bomber, Starbright Kate and Don's Machine collided at the 300mtr mark. Pomp Fiction checked off Miss Kirteish at the 150mtr mark. 

The all clear was delayed for this event to view the photo finish print for third and fourth placegetters. After viewing the official video film, Stewards gave the all clear on the judges numbers 4-5-2-3.

A pre-race sample was taken from Wishing Angel.

Moore Of Moore and Kev's Choice collided soon after the start. Jupiter Ascending, Moore Of Moore, Kev's Choice and Soon Now collided at the 300mtr mark. Jupiter Ascending and Soon Now collided at the 200mtr mark. Jupiter Ascending crossed to the outside approaching the 150mtr mark severely checking Soon Now. 

It was reported to Stewards that the greyhound Wishing Angel did not have a catcher in this event. Stewards interviewed licenced catcher Miss M. Boyle who was engaged by Trainer Mr. F. Tasca. Stewards found Miss Boyle in breach of GAR 48 in that she failed to fulfill her catching engagement. Miss Boyle pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $100.

Shadae and Miss Premier collided soon after the start. No Money Down and Kathy's Lady collided soon after the start. Tron's Empire crossed to the outside at the 250mtr mark. No Money Down checked off Kathy's Lady at the 250mtr mark. Shadae, Miss Premier and Kathy's Lady collided at the 250mtr mark and again approaching the 200mtr mark. 

Trickey Trey was a late scratching at 6.00pm on 2 November, 2017 due to a foot injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from My Wrecker. 

Hugh Made Who and Kimmy Bale were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Donkey Tron and Acquinted collided soon after the start and again at the 250mtr mark checking Donkey Tron. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Zampichelli regarding the direction that the greyhound Donkey Tron be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Showin' Attitude.

Black Bindi crossed in soon after the start checking Johhny's Return and severely checking Ossy Suzy and Freedom Fire. Ossy Suzy checked off Freedom Fire at the 200mtr mark. Ossy Suzy and Black Bindi collided at the 250mtr mark. Rosacky Blitz and Showin' Attitude collided approaching the winning post. 

Barnie's Blaster was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
