Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr S Berriman, the trainer of Pesty Pyper regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Pesty Pyper last raced on 23-july-17. S Berriman stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from an extended spell.
Harry's Hammer was a late scratching at 13:59. Ms S.Donlon failed to arrive in time due to mechanical breakdown. Stewards accepted her explanation.
A pre-race sample was taken from Pesty Pyper.
Pesty Pyper, Fine Wine, Emma's Sparrow and Miracle Cherry collided soon after the start checking Miracle Cherry which fell. Fine Wine and Paid Too Much collided on the first turn. Riverdale Danger and Emma's Sparrow collided approaching the home turn. Fine Wine raced wide in the home straight.
Fine Wine was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left elbow. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
Miracle Cherry was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
