Ultimate Return was quick to begin. Pacific Power was slow to begin.
Rattle Gate, Winnie, Mac's Intention and Winlock Hadley collided approaching the first turn, checking Winnie. Mahaya raced wide on the first turn, checking Mac's Intention and Flying Mia; Winlock Hadley raced wide as a result. Mahaya, Mac's Intention and Flying Mia collided approaching the second turn. Winnie checked off Mahaya on the second turn, checking Mac's Intention. Mahaya and Flying Mia collided on the second turn. Rattle Gate faltered entering the back straight and lost ground. Ultimate Return and Pacific Power raced wide in the home straight.
