Steward's Report
The commencement of this race was initially delayed due to operational matters and further delayed to avoid a clash with a Ballarat Harness race.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Borg, Trainer of Van Ann regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Van Ann last raced on 22 July 2017. Mr Borg stated that the greyhound was returning from a fractured fibula.
Van Ann was quick to begin. Eddie Eagle and Zambora Idol collided soon after the start. Vostok and Zambora Idol collided soon after the start. Tobacco Leaf and Riley Tokaam collided several times soon after the start. Eddie Eagle and Liebig Street collided on the first turn. Vostok checked off Empire Entourage on the first turn checking Zambora Idol and Tobacco Leaf. Empire Entourage and Van Ann collided on the first turn. Van Ann galloped on the heels of Riley Tokaam on the first turn. Tobacco Leaf raced wide on the first turn. Zambora Idol and Liebig Street collided several times approaching the second turn checking Liebig Street. Liebig Street checked off Zambora Idol on the second turn. Liebig Street checked off Zambora Idol on the home turn.
