Steward's Report

Chardy was slow to begin.  Verve Allen crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Weeona Jimmy and Verne Allen.  Autocrat checked off Chardy on the first turn checking Dyna Fabrice and Jimmy Newob.

Autocrat was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to its left ribs and injuries to its left monkey muscle, left shoulder joint and left deltoid muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Jimmy Newob was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Samples were taken from the first two placegetters in this event - Big Flood (1st) and Chardy (2nd).

The All Clear was delayed for this event as a seagull was observed to take flight from the track, on the home turn as the field approached that area.  After viewing the vision several times, the Stewards were entirely satisfied that this had no affect on the result. The All Clear was given.

Due to a mechanical/control issue, the lure did not respond to exceleration on the finishing line and caused an issue whereby several greyhounds passed through the opening of the lure apron on the catching pen gate, which was not closed as normal due to the distance between the lure and the lead greyhound being too short to do so. In this process, the lure apron on the catching pen gate was broken.  The lure control panel was replaced, tested and functioned satisfactorily.  The lure apron was also replaced.  Due to time taken to remediate these issues, Race 7 was rescheduled and commenced at 9:20pm, Race 8 at 9:37pm, Race 9 at 9:57pm and Race 10 at 10:13pm.  Race 11 and 12 commenced as originally programmed.
