Reign Of Omar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a dislocated right fore toe. A 60-day stand down period was imposed.

Argus Filch was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Sharp, the kennel representative for the greyhound Argus Filch, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the third turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Argus Filch with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Sharp pleaded guilty to the charge, Argus Filch was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for three months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.

An Out of Competition sample was taken from Daicos, engaged in this event, on 16th October 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Black Spyro was quick to begin. Vis Vitae, Snap Loch and Manitoba were slow to begin.

Sena Bale, Subconscious and Black Spyro collided approaching the first turn, checking Sena Bale and Subconscious. Snap Loch contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and lost ground. Subconscious checked off Daicos on the first turn. Sena Bale and Manitoba collided on the second turn. Manitoba checked off Subconscious entering the back straight. Snap Loch was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left front foot. No stand down period was imposed.

Crackerjack Nath was quick to begin. Crook Me Kindly and Our Mate Wilson were slow to begin.

Allen Marky was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhoun sustained an injury to the right gracilis (back) muscle. A 60-day stand down period was imposed.

Etiquette was a late scratching at 11:33am due to non-arrival (GAR 31). A mechanical breakdown was communicated to Stewards by telephone; trainer Mr John Delaroche was informed that he is required to provide relevant documentation to verify these circumstances before penalties are removed. Trainer Mr John Delaroche was fined the sum of $100.

Kouta Gold was vetted prior to the event. It was reported that the greyhound exhibited no signs of illness or injury and was passed fit to race.

Stewards spoke to Ms Ashlee Terry, the trainer of Short Blond Hair, regarding the circumstances surrounding the scratching of the greyhound. Stewards directed that the greyhound must undergo a veterinary examination GAR23(3), and provide the resulting certificate within 24 hours.

Crackerjack Kack and Lady Bullseye were quick to begin.

Amigo One and Alberto collided soon after the start. Amigo One, Alberto and Lady Bullseye collided on the first turn. Crackerjack Kack crossed to the outside on the first turn, checking Benali. Alberto and Kalahari Sands collided in the home straight.
