Mepunga Gal was quick to begin. Emerley Indigo and Emerley Tru Blu were slow to begin.
Ominous Warning crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Golden Spell, Immen Bale and Good Luck Mick. Blackhawk Dee checked off Good Luck Mick on the first turn. Good Luck Mick checked off Emerley Indigo on the first turn, checking Emerley Tru Blu. Blackhawk Dee and Golden Spell collided on the first turn. Mepunga Gal and Immen Bale collided on the third turn, checking Mepunga Gal and Ominous Warning. Mepunga Gal and Ominous Warning collided approaching the home turn.
Emerley Tru Blu was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right sartorius (pencil) and tensor fascia (triangle) muscles, and a carpal sprain to the right wrist. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
