Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Up Hill Jill.
Up Hill Jill was slow to begin. Ace Marlow, Pomp Fiction and Thanks Cheryl collided soon after the start, checking Pomp Fiction. Iceni Crusader checked off Kokoda Dreamin' approaching the first turn, checking Up Hill Jill. Ace Marlow and Up Hill Jill collided approaching the home turn. Iceni Crusader checked off Up Hill Jill on the home turn.
Up Hill Jill, which performed below market expectations, was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
When questioned Mr David Geall, trainer of Up Hill Jill, could offer no explanation for the greyhound's performance in this event. Mr Geall advised that Up Hill Jill was having it's first start at the track, which may have contributed to its performance, and further stated that the greyhound was slow out and suffered interference approaching the first turn.
