Atlantic Rose was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following race five, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Cliff Smith, the trainer of Atlantic Rose regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn.

A sample was taken from Railway Burra - the winner of the event.

Redcliff Rebel, Call Me Minion and Cheese Icy were slow to begin.  Redcliff Rebel and Call Me Minion collided soon after the start.  Sisco Ride and Iroquois Sharman collided approaching the first turn, checking Iroquois Sharman, which collided with Sisco Dun and Lilly An' Page.  Iroquois Sharman raced wide approaching the home turn.

Call Me Minion was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg quadriceps injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Martin, the trainer of Tye Me Chopper, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Tye Me Chopper last raced on 1 July 2017.  Mr Martin stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an extended spell.

Stewards spoke to Mr Rodney Millington, the trainer of Spirited Bingle, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Spirited Bingle last raced on 5 September 2017. Mr Millington stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following an injury to the left metatarsal.

Up Hill Jill, which performed below market expectations, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

When questioned Mr David Geall, trainer of Up Hill Jill, could offer no explanation for the greyhound's performance in this event.  Mr Geall advised that Up Hill Jill was having it's first start at the track, which may have contributed to its performance, and further stated that the greyhound was slow out and suffered interference approaching the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Kerry Prowse, the trainer of Arcup Usain, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Arcup Usain  last raced on 2 September 2017.  Mrs Prowse stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a toe injury.

El Grand Richo was a late scratching at 1:01 pm, due to a right elbow injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms Andrea Gurry, the trainer of Robo's A Flyer regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Robo's A Flyer last raced on 8 June 2017.  Ms Gurry stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right stopper tendon injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Robo's A Flyer trialled over the 410m from box three, weight 33.4 kgs, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 23:83, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 11 lengths.  Robo's A Flyer was Cleared.

Ms Andrea Gurry, trainer of Robo's A Flyer, declared a new weight of 33.4 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Robo's A Flyer last raced at 32.2 kgs.
