Steward's Report
El Grand Richo was a late scratching at 1:01 pm, due to a right elbow injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Kerry Prowse, the trainer of Sandy Lagoon, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sandy Lagoon last raced on 15 August 2017. Mrs Prowse stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right back toe injury
Stewards spoke to Mrs Robyn Barbour, the trainer of Cheekers, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cheekers last raced on 30 July 2017. Mrs Barbour stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a change of kennel.
A pre-race sample was taken from Rockin' In.
Cheekers, Bushiri and Rockin' In were slow to begin. Witch Kilty and Sandy Lagoon collided soon after the start, checking Sandy Lagoon. Witch Kilty, Glass Half Full and From The Shadows collided approaching the first turn, checking Sandy Lagoon, Glass Half Full and Cheekers. From The Shadows checked off Rockin' In on the first turn. Witch Kilty and Rockin' In collided approaching the winning post, checking Witch Kilty.
