Bushman's Billy and Underrated collided soon after the start. Gunna Be Hoping and Akut collided approaching the first turn. Onyx Dream eased on the first turn and collided with Moondust, checking Moondust. Gunna Be Hoping and Akut collided on the home turn. Onyx Dream raced wide on the home turn.

Stewards spoke toMrs. M. Dapiran,the representative of the greyhound Onyx Dream regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Onyx Dream was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shoulder injury and a back injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Onyx Dream with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs. Dapiran pleaded guilty to the charge, Onyx Dream was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Black Adam was a late scratching at 13:34 on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Base Camp and Midnight Mystery collided soon after the start. Dark Star checked off Prue Lace approaching the first turn. Midnight Mystery and Come On Charlize collided in the home straight.

Placid Murphy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left stopper and bruising to the right hind paw. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.

Dark Star was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Moonbeam was a late scratching at 13:49 due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr. D. Fisher was fined the sum of $100.

Royal Welsh was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor back injury. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. A Ferguson regarding the performance of the greyhound. Mr. Ferguson thought the distance was too far for the greyhound and he would restrict her to shorter races in the future. Stewards accepted Mr. Ferguson's explaination.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Ward, the trainer of Zabdon Ferrari regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Zabdon Ferrari last raced on 14th September 2017. Mr. Ward stated that  the greyhound was resuming racing after a change of kennels.

Mystic Marlow was quick to begin.

Holloway, Lunar Eclipse, Brienne and Kiwi Colision collided soon after the start checking Brienne. Sienna's Gem, Holloway and Tegz A Riddler collided on the first turn. Kiwi Colision checked off Zabdon Ferrari on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Bahen, the trainer of Rick Grimes regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rick Grimes last raced on 24th August 2017. Mr. Bahen stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a right hock injury.

Meeting Comments:-

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr.M. Grainger, the trainer of Cosmic Squaw regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Cosmic Squaw last raced on 12th June 2015. Mr. Grainger stated that he had been ill and the greyhound was resuming from a lengthy spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Cosmic Squaw trialled over the 390mts from box 1, weight 24.4kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.67, the greyhound won by a margin of 5.25L. Cosmic Squaw was cleared.
