Steward's Report
This meeting was declared to be hot weather affected. The outside temperature at the start of this event was 31.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees.
Joffa's Mate and Chase The Nugget were quick to begin.
Akut, Underrated and Bushman's Billy were slow to begin.
Bushman's Billy and Underrated collided soon after the start. Gunna Be Hoping and Akut collided approaching the first turn. Onyx Dream eased on the first turn and collided with Moondust, checking Moondust. Gunna Be Hoping and Akut collided on the home turn. Onyx Dream raced wide on the home turn.
Stewards spoke toMrs. M. Dapiran,the representative of the greyhound Onyx Dream regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Onyx Dream was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shoulder injury and a back injury. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Onyx Dream with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Dapiran pleaded guilty to the charge, Onyx Dream was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
