Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to A. Debattista, the trainer of Flash Apollo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Flash Apollo last raced on 7 June 2017 and is returning after a change of kennels. Mr. Debattista also declared a new weight of 33.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Flash Apollo last raced at 31.8kg.
A pre-race sample was taken from Koda Blue.
Dyna Ianto and Hully Gully were quick to begin. Kraken Lanina was slow to begin. Kraken Lanina contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Shellbrook and Hully Gully collided on the first turn. Flash Apollo contacted the running rail on the first turn. Shellbrook checked off Fairly Legal on the home turn. Koda Blue and No Recourse collided entering the home straight. Fairly Legal crossed to the outside in the home straight.
Kraken Lanina was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left elbow and soreness to the left shin, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
