S. Divers, trainer of Toby's Taxi declared a new weight of 31.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Toby's Taxi last raced at 29.9kg.
Toby's Taxi was quick to begin,. Fancy Anna was slow to begin. Hartley Steph and Proven Mystery collided soon after the start. Bold Spirit and Wolf Point collided soon after the start. Toby's Taxi, Wolf Point and Daintree Lilli collided approaching the first turn. Bold Spirit and Fancy Anna collided on the first turn checking Fancy Anna. Daintree Rose faltered approaching the home turn and lost ground, checking Fancy Anna. Proven Mystery and Toby's Taxi collided entering the home straight. Fancy Anna failed to pursue the lure with due commitment entering the home straight. Daintree Rose and Fancy Anna collided in the home straight checking Daintree Rose.
Daintree Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hock, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Boots, the representative of the greyhound Fancy Anna regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Fancy Anna was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist, right flexor tendon and left shin, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Fancy Anna with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Boots pleaded guilty to the charge, Fancy Anna was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
