S. Divers, trainer of Toby's Taxi declared a new weight of 31.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Toby's Taxi last raced at 29.9kg.

Toby's Taxi was quick to begin,.  Fancy Anna was slow to begin.  Hartley Steph and Proven Mystery collided soon after the start.  Bold Spirit and Wolf Point collided soon after the start.  Toby's Taxi, Wolf Point and Daintree Lilli collided approaching the first turn. Bold Spirit and Fancy Anna collided on the first turn checking Fancy Anna. Daintree Rose faltered approaching the home turn and lost ground, checking Fancy Anna. Proven Mystery and Toby's Taxi collided entering the home straight.  Fancy Anna failed to pursue the lure with due commitment entering the home straight.  Daintree Rose and Fancy Anna collided in the home straight checking Daintree Rose.

Daintree Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hock, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.  

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Boots, the representative of the greyhound Fancy Anna regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Fancy Anna was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist, right flexor tendon and left shin, a 21 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Fancy Anna with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Boots pleaded guilty to the charge, Fancy Anna was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to A. Debattista, the trainer of Flash Apollo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Flash Apollo last raced on 7 June 2017 and is returning after a change of kennels. Mr. Debattista also declared a new weight of 33.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Flash Apollo last raced at 31.8kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Koda Blue.

Dyna Ianto and Hully Gully were quick to begin.  Kraken Lanina was slow to begin.  Kraken Lanina contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Shellbrook and Hully Gully collided on the first turn.  Flash Apollo contacted the running rail on the first turn.  Shellbrook checked off Fairly Legal on the home turn.  Koda Blue and No Recourse collided entering the home straight.  Fairly Legal crossed to the outside in the home straight.

Kraken Lanina was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left elbow and soreness to the left shin, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Cozi Fitz.

Ima Brickie and Whipstick Indi were slow to begin and collided approaching the first turn checking Whipstick Indi, which lost ground as a result.  Gnocchi crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Shooter's Odysey, Cozi Fitz, Bushman's Legend and Was A Banker.  Ima Brickie and Bushman's Legend collided approaching the home turn checking Bushman's Legend.  Whipstick Indi raced wide approaching the home turn.  Cozi Fitz and Was A Banker collided on the home turn.  Cozi Fitz checked off Was A Banker entering the home straight.  Ima Brickie and Cozi Fitz collided in the home straight.

Whipstick Indi was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and left back muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Cozzi was slow to begin.  Dynamic Rainbow, Hey Hey Fozz and All Inn Houston collided on the first turn.  Hey Hey Fozz checked off Kamchatka Lass approaching the home turn.  Kamchatka Lass and Tat Minnie raced wide in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Merry Magic, the winner of the event.

Tooralee was quick to begin.  Milwalcar was slow to begin.  Tat Scooby and Claretown Boris collided on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to D. Warburton, the trainer of Chillby regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Chillby last raced on 29 July 2017 and is returning after a left monkey muscle injury. Mr. Warburton also declared a new weight of 31.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Chillby last raced at 30.3kg.

Due to a technical malfunction, the first split of the event was not recorded.  The first split was hand timed at 6.42.

A pre-race sample was taken from Tat Loxy.

Daintree Prinz was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Vintage Queen and Chillby collided soon after the start.  Tat Loxy, Chillby and Daintree Prinz collided approaching the first turn checking Chillby, severely checking Tat Loxy.  Vintage Queen, Lorella and Daintree Prinz collided on the first turn.  Panda Rebel raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.  Lorella and Heroic Outlaw raced wide in the home straight.

Bagpipes Billy was quick to begin.  Bekim Fire was slow to begin.  Oshkosh Jay checked off Mate Bale approaching the first turn checking Bekim Fire.  Oshkosh Jay and Bekim Fire collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn.  Perfect Rider checked off Bagpipes Billy approaching the home turn.  Desperado Boy raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.   Oshkosh Jay, Bagpipes Billy and Bekim Fire collided entering the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Glass Half Full.

Cawbourne Mav and Kimmy Cabang were slow to begin.  Bound Two Affair checked off Glass Half Full on the first turn.  Cawbourne Mav and Kimmy Cabang collided on the first turn, severely checking Kimmy Cabang and Glass Half Full.  From The Shadows, Glass Half Full and Cristalle Max collided approaching the home turn checking Glass Half Full.  Cawbourne Mav and Glass Half Full raced wide in the home straight.  Bound Two Affair checked off From The Shadows approaching the wining post.

Stewards spoke to J. Wilson, the trainer of Swiftly Swift regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Swiftly Swift last raced on 11 June 2017 and is returning after a spell. Mr. Wilson also declared a new weight of 34.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Swiftly Swift last raced at 33.0kg.

Senorita Pepe was quick to begin.  Freddy Perfect, All Inn Emma and Stoppa Bus collided approaching the first turn.  All Inn Johnson checked off All Inn Emma approaching the first turn.  Swiftly Swift galloped on the heels of Senorita Pepe on the first turn checking Senorita Pepe, Swiftly Swift lost ground as a result.  Stoppa Bus and All inn Emma collided on the first turn.  All Inn Johnson and All Inn Piper collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Swiftly Swift raced wide entering the home straight.

Murrabit Betty was slow to begin.  Doobstar and Zelemar Zest collided soon after the start.  Oriental Lord checked off Sonny's Tas approaching the first turn and collided with Murrabit Betty.  Campeon crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Sonny's Tas, Little Pookie, Doobstar, Zelemar Zest and Ruby Cabang.  Doobstar, Zelemar Zest and Murrabit Betty collided approaching the home turn checking Zelemar Zest and Ruby Cabang.  Oriental Lord and Sonny's Tas collided on the home turn.

C. Redenbach, trainer of Pictish Mark declared a new weight of 30.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Pictish Mark last raced at 31.4kg.
