Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms James Van Demaat, the representative of Simentone, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Simentone last raced on 28 January 2017 and is returning after a left scapula injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Von Costa Kahn.
Gotta Rush, Von Costa Kahn and Dragon's Den collided soon after the start. Wheel And Deal and Simentone collided soon after the start. Wheel And Deal crossed to the rail soon after the start. Dragon's Den and Sun Choice collided at the 250m mark. Shifty Joshua checked off Dragon's Den approaching the 150m mark and crossed to the outside. Simentone faltered at the 150m mark and tailed off, checking Oscar and Sun Choice. Dragon's Den and Sun Choice collided at the 100m mark.
Simentone was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained cervico-thoracic and left hindleg triangle injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Meeting Comments:
Satisfactory Trial Results - Sold Short trialled over the 350m from box eight, weight 33.3 kgs, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 19:30, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.75 lengths. Sold Short was Cleared.
