Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms Verity Cotton, the trainer of Daimler, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Daimler last raced on 5 December 2016. Ms Cotton stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right wrist injury. Stewards noted that Daimler had trialled at Ballarat on 12 June 2017. Ms Verity Cotton, also declared a new weight of 31.7 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Daimler last raced at 30.6 kgs.
Ben's Talon and Daimler collided soon after the start. Cosmo Lass, Ben's Talon and Daimler collided soon after the start, checking Ben's Talon and Daimler. Daimler and Ben's Talon collided approaching the first turn, checking Ben's Talon. Daimler raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.
