Steward's Report
Premier Back was a late scratching at 8:40am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr B.Merton was fined the sum of $100.
Run Tom Run and Golden Aura were slow to begin. Alex The Seal and Penske Goddess collided approaching the first turn, checking Whizrene. Alex The Seal and Penske Goddess collided on the first turn, checking Run Tom Run and Alex The Seal. Whizrene galloped on the heels Penske Goddess on the home turn. Penske Goddess and Whizrene collided entering the home straight. Penske Goddess marred the running of Whizrene in the home straight.
Penske Goddess was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left fibula and both stifles. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr R.Henness, the trainer of the greyhound Penske Goddess regarding the greyhounds racing manners in home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Penske Goddess with marring. Mr Henness pleaded guilty to the charge, Penske Goddess was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
