A pre-race sample was taken from Windsor Reign.
Rosie Rocks and Senorita Pepe were quick to begin. Captain Pete and Windsor Reign were slow to begin. Rosie Rocks and Senorita Pepe collided approaching the first turn. Captain Pete and Windsor Reign collided approaching the first turn, causing Windsor Reign to stumble and lose ground as a result. Senorita Pepe, Cosmea and Odd Boots collided on the home turn. Captain Pete raced wide on the home turn.
Windsor Reign was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right biceps femoris (thigh) and tensor fascia (triangle) muscles. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
