A pre-race sample was taken from Riverdale Cocky.

Riverdale Cocky and Black In Town were slow to begin and collided soon after the start, checking Riverdale Cocky.  Key Fiasco checked off the heels of Big Tilly approaching the first turn, checking Key Fiasco.  Key Fiasco checked off the heels of Rapid Mission approaching the home turn.  Black In Town and Big Tilly raced wide on the home turn.  Black In Town checked off the heels of Riverdale Cocky entering the home straight.

Mask was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain of the right wrist. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Flying Sam; subsequently a post race sample was collected from the greyhound which finished in second place.

Nicky Jo, Flying Sam and Mat's Road were slow to begin.  My Territory checked off the heels of Flying Sam approaching the first turn, checking Nicky Jo.  Eggeb Mai, Zou Bisou Bisou and Mat's Road collided on the first turn, severely checking all three greyhounds.  My Territory and Nicky Jo collided approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Itsa Secret.

Daintree Prinz was very slow to begin (3L).  Itsa Secret and Nitro Heroine collided several times approaching the first turn.  Bruce Mae and Daintree Prinz collided approaching the first turn, checking Bruce Mae.  Misshap, Winnie Allen and Nitro Heroine raced wide on the home turn.  Zoya Bale eased on two occassions in the home straight and collided with South Of Eden.

Stewards spoke to Ms Korie-Lee Heinrich the handler of the greyhound Zoya Bale, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Zoya Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left metatarsals and right hind toe, no stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Zoya Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms Heinrich pleaded guilty to the charge, Zoya Bale was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Geopark Ruby.

Daintree Lilli, Leeroy Rox and Miss Yaala were slow to begin.  Leeroy Rox checked off the heels of Charlotte Allen approaching the first turn.  Daintree Lilli checked off the heels of Geopark Ruby approaching the first turn, severely checking Daintree Lilli which lost ground as a result.  Umar Allen and Oshkosh Wayne collided approaching the home turn.  Daintree Lilli raced wide on the home turn. Oshkosh Wayne and Dynastic Ruler collided in the home straight. Umar Allen appeared to cramp in the home straight

Daintree Lilli was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Umar Allen was vetted and revetted following event seven. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.  Acting on the Stewards and Veterinary Surgeons' observations the greyhound was suspected of cramping. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Korie-Lee Heinrich, the hander of the greyhound Umar Allen. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

Podium Express was a late scratching at 12.04p.m. - Stewards non-penalty.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Spring Alis.

Roy Boy was slow to begin.  Bugs Boloney, One Mississippi and Rosie's Gift collided soon after the start.  Rosie's Gift checked off the heels of Spring Alis approaching the first turn.  Blitzen Bell checked off the heels of Roy Boy approaching the first turn, checking Blitzen Bell.  Bugs Boloney and Roy Boy collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Roy Boy checked off the heels of Bugs Boloney approaching the winning post.

A pre-race sample was taken from Maximum Melva.

Media Street was slow to begin.  Calabasas, Archi Willow, Cruisy's Lil and Maximum Melva collided soon after the start, severely checking Calabasas and Archi Willow.  Homer checked off the heels of Media Street approaching the first turn.  El Grand Pepe checked off the heels of Cruisy's Lil approaching the first turn, checking El Grand Pepe.  Calabasas raced wide on the home turn.

Mr Simon Humphries, trainer of Bambalam Emma, declared a new weight of 28.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bambalam Emma last raced at 30.3kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Ego Yar.

Bambalam Emma was quick to begin.  Patchie Bear and Ego Yar were slow to begin.  Crackerjack Cam checked off the heels of Secretary Bird soon after the start, severely checking Patchie Bear and Crackerjack Cam.  Patchie Bear checked off the heels of Crackerjack Cam approaching the first turn.  Bambalam Emma and Amlin's Magic collided several times approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds.  Daintree Alice and Patchie Bear collided several times on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Crackerjack Cam raced wide on the home turn.  Bambalam Emma checked off the heels of Amlin's Magic in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Windsor Reign.

Rosie Rocks and Senorita Pepe were quick to begin. Captain Pete and Windsor Reign were slow to begin.  Rosie Rocks and Senorita Pepe collided approaching the first turn. Captain Pete and Windsor Reign collided approaching the first turn, causing Windsor Reign to stumble and lose ground as a result. Senorita Pepe, Cosmea and Odd Boots collided on the home turn. Captain Pete raced wide on the home turn.

Windsor Reign was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right biceps femoris (thigh) and tensor fascia (triangle) muscles. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Speed Alert.

Dodger's Beauty was quick to begin. Sidevalve and Speed Alert were slow to begin.  Sidevalve checked off the heels of Ben's Talon approaching the first turn, severely checking Ben's Talon and Star Douglas. Speed Alert raced wide on the home turn. Dodger's Beauty and Sidevalve collided in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Exford Lumpy.

Jack's Alouette was quick to begin. Black Legend was very slow to begin (3L).  Jack Snapper checked off the heels of Callaway soon after the start and collided with Riverside Shaz and Lola Allen, causing Riverside Shaz and Jack Snapper to lose ground as a result. Riverside Shaz checked off the heels of Jack Snapper on the home turn. Black Legend and Exford Lumpy collided several times in the home straight.

Vintage Storm was quick to begin.

Dyna Elvio checked off the heels of Secret Number soon after the start, checking Ofina Allen. Vintage Storm and Nolen's Fortune collided on the first turn. Dyna Elvio checked off the heels of Drogma approaching the home turn. Olfina Allen checked off the heels of Secret Number approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Yaala.

Maximum Jarvis and Yaala were quick to begin. Mardella and Sunningdale were slow to begin.  Mardella checked off the heels of Fuel Lever soon after the start. Shadow Bolt checked off the Maximum Jarvis approaching the first turn. Thera Cee and Mardella collided approaching the home turn. Maximum Jarvis and Sunningdale collided on the home turn.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Weight Trial - Paddy's Midnight trialled over the 400m from box one, weight 25.8kg. The time of the trial was 22.37, the greyhound placed second in a field of two and was beaten by 8L. Paddy's Midnight was cleared.
