Steward's Report
Cindeen Jates was quick to begin. Kayo King was slow to begin.
Vanishka and Little Vossy collided soon after the start. Spring To Wyn checked off Cindeen Jates approaching the first turn. Vanishka checked off Spring To Wyn approaching the first turn. Kayo King, Happy Hamish and Vanishka collided on the first turn checking Happy Hamish and Pia, Kayo faltered and pulled up as a result. Happy Hamish checked off Pia on the second turn. Carry On Pendles clipped the heels of Cindeen Jates on the home turn checking Carry On Pendles and Vanishka. Vanishka and Pia collided on the home turn checking Happy Hamish. Pia eased entering the home straight and collided with Happy Hamish and Vanishka, checking all three which raced wide as a result. Cindeen Jates and Spring To Win collided entering the home straight. Vanishka and Pia collided several times in the home straight.
Kayo King was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock fracture, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr B. Walker, the trainer of the greyhound Pia regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Pia was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey and left & right trapezius muscles a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Pia with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Walker pleaded guilty to the charge, Pia was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
