Steward's Report
A sample was taken from It's A Drama at the trainer's kennels earlier today.
A sample was unable to be obtained from Macy Lee upon arrival on course and pre-race, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Major Minter and Akina Harley were slow to begin. Croucher, Big Artie Banner and Akina Harley collided approaching the first turn checking Akina Harley. Major Minter, It's A Drama, Big Artie Banner and Buddy Goes Bang collided on the first turn checking Buddy Goes Bang and severely checking Major Minter and Big Artie Banner.
Big Artie Banner underwent a post race examination and was found to have a minor spike wounds to the left hock and right hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
Trainer Mr. B. Alford was issued a warning pursuant to GAR 86(q) for engaging in conduct detrimental to the image and control of greyhound racing for the manner in which he spoke to Steward Mrs H. Harvey prior to race 8 and Mrs. B. Mason following the event. In arriving at penalty Stewards took into account Mr Alford's remorse and clean record in relation to this rule.
