Meeting Comments:

Stewards were advised that the track was deep harrowed on Wednesday 18 May 2016.

Stewards spoke to Mr R. Mowat, trainer of the greyhound One For One which had not raced since 15 February 2016. Mr Mowat stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel and was returning to racing after recovering from injury. A new weight of 30.8kg was also declared for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). One For One last raced at 28.9kg.

Seabrook Gem and Superior Bobby were slow to begin.  One For One and Rose Magic collided soon after the start, checking One For One and Steely Sprite.  Jack Of Meade, Steely Sprite, One For One and Seabrook Gem collided approaching the 250m mark.  Superior Bobby checked off Jack Of Meade at the 150m mark.  One For One checked off Seabrook Gem at the 100m mark.  Superior Bobby and Jack Of Meade at the 50m mark.

A sample was taken from Rose Magic - the winner of the event.

Blue Colla Girl was a late scratching at 8.31am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Azza.

Yes Mr. Boss was slow to begin.  Dozer Gold, Rover and Glib Lightning collided soon after the start, checking all three greyhounds.  Rover galloped on the heels of Azza's Baby at the 200m mark.  Yes Mr. Boss and Rover collided approaching the 50m.

Stewards spoke to Mr M Marshall trainer of the greyhound Juggie Superfish which had not raced since 8 January 2016. Mr Marshall stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel and had been on season.

A pre race sample was taken from Spring Velox.

Upta Mischief, Spring Velox and Mea Rose collided soon after the start, checking Spring Velox.  Loco Larico and Rockin' Roller collided soon after the start.  Anita's Girl and Loco Larico collided at the 300m mark.  Loco Larico and Rockin' Roller collided at the 250m mark.  Cincinnati Lass checked off Loco Larico approaching the 50m mark.

Stewards spoke to Mr S Bruce, trainer of the greyhound Djarragun which had not raced since 24 December 2015. Mr Bruce stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after recovering from a back muscle injury.

A pre race sample was taken from Dodge Ball.

Sweet Sassafras, Elite Obama and Drizzle were slow to begin.  Elle Driver and Djarragun collided at the 200m mark, checking Elle Driver, Another Hope, Heartbreak Love and Dodge Ball.  Another Hope checked off Elle Driver approaching the 50m mark.  Dodge Ball and Djarragun collided approaching the winning post.

A sample was taken from Djarragun - 2nd placed in the event.

Aston Ryder and Shazzle's Boy were slow to begin.  Princemark Flyer and That's The Plan collided at the 300m mark.  Jetmag Ink, Senor Grumpy and Aston Ryder collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Senor Grumpy.  Jetmag ink and Aston Ryder collided at the 250m mark, checking Senor Grumpy and Aston Ryder.  Shazzle's Boy raced wide at the 250m mark.  That's The Plan and My Baby Porscha collided several times from the 75m mark until approaching the winning post.

Following the event Senor Grumpy collapsed in the catching pen. As a result the greyhound was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound experienced a seizure.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to A Ware, the trainer of Senor Grumpy and advised him that acting in accordance with GAR 74, Stewards directed that Senor Grumpy must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Tony Bopper was slow to begin.  Cat Zingano and Botanic Lass collided soon after the start.  Magic Moon Dust, Bordeaux Miss and Onya Sami collided at the 300m mark.  Magic Moon Dust, Bordeaux Miss, Onya Sami and Cat Zingano collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Onya Sami, Bordeaux Miss, Cat Zingano and Tiny Bopper.  Magic Moon Dust and Bordeaux Miss collided at the 250m mark.  Cat Zingano and Silver Salute collided at the 200m mark and again at the 150m mark.

Samples were taken from Pacific Secret (1st) and Bordeaux Miss (2nd).

Mr C. Glen was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Ruby's Faith pursuant to GAR 33.

Stewards spoke to Mr S Mckenzie, trainer of the greyhound Matt's Entity which had not raced since 12 January 2016. Mr Mckenzie stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after recovering from a back muscle injury.  A new weight of 35.8kg was also declared for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Matt's Entity last raced at 37.3kg.

Matt's Entity, Red Light Runner and Hello Sunshine collided soon after the start.  Oscar's Champ crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Red Light Runner.  Matt's Entity and Hello Sunshine collided approaching the 200m mark.  Ruby's Faith and Miss Belladonna collided at the 50m mark.

Marbo's Magic was slow to begin.  Kid Carl and Run Ollie Run collided soon after the start.  Asa Flying Spur checked off Bourbon An Kahn soon after the start.  Jackpot Time, Marbo's Magic and Asa Killa Queen collided soon after the start, checking Marbo's Magic.  Marbo's Magic galloped on the heels of Asa Killa Queen at the 300m mark, checking Marbo's Magic.  Run Ollie Run galloped on the heels of Kid Carl at the 250m mark.  Kid Carl and Asa Flying Spur at the 50m mark.  Asa Flying Spur and Jackpot Time collided approaching the winning post.

Samples were taken from Zambora Beau (1st) and Bourbon An Kahn (2nd).

Marbo's Magic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhounds sustained abraisions to the left hock and right hind toes.  No stand down period was imposed.

Desert Oak and Santana were slow to begin.  Excuse Me Baby and Proven Pops collided soon after the start.  Excuse Me Baby and Proven Pops collided approaching the 300m mark, checking Proven Pops which collided with Heidi's Jewel.  Tee Jay Cee checked off Like A Fancy at the 300m mark.  Tee Jay Cee checked off Desert Oak at the 200m mark.  Heidi's Jewl and Santana collided approaching the 100m mark, severely checking both greyhounds.  Tee Jay Cee and Desert Oak colldied approaching the 100m mark, checking Tee Jay Cee and Excuse Me Baby.  Tee Jay Cee and Heidi's Jewel collided at the 50m mark.

Jupiter Jones and Boston Jet were slow to begin.  Hide The Wallet and Milly's Way collided soon after the start.  Rising Storm crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Perfect Buddy and Hide The Wallet.  Perfect Buddy and Jupiter Jones collided approaching the 250m mark.  Rising Storm and Race Roquette collided at the 250m mark.  Perfect Buddy and Jupiter Jones collided at the 200m mark.  Perfect Buddy and Boston Jet collided at the 150m mark.  Boston Jet checked off Jupiter Hones approaching the 50m mark.

Sharp Intention and Fab's Fury were slow to begin.  Kerrie Kerry and Make It Happen collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark.  Van Damm, Sharp Intention and Fab's Fury collided at the 250m mark.  Kerrie Kerry and Make It Happen collided approaching the 200m mark, checking Kerrie Kerry.

Gold Rush Dozer was slow to begin.  I've Got Bills and Magic Super collided approaching the 300m mark.  Gats Pacino checked off Spring Saviour approaching the 250m mark.  Spring Saviour and Pink Caviar collided at the 250m mark, checking Spring Saviour, Pink Caviar and Gats Pacino.  Captain Crunch checked off Gats Pacino at the 200m mark.  Gats Pacino and Spring Saviour collided approaching the 150m mark and again at the 150m mark.

Stewards spoke to Mr D Webber trainer of the greyhound Heavy Pockets and issued a severe reprimand as he was late to the kennels to prepare the greyhound for racing.

Meeting comments:

Satisfactory Trial – Returning from retirement - Beckenbauer trialled over the 350m from box 1, weight 30.1, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 19.54, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.5L. Beckenbauer was cleared.
