Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Oxygen Bandit.
Tricky Trey and Oxygen Bandit were quick to begin. Jay Kay Be was slow to begin. Fear Fire, Dodge The Speed and Peter Repeater collided soon after the start checking Dodge The Speed. Fear Fire and Peter Repeater collided on the first turn checking Peter Repeater. Jay Kay Be and Dodge The Speed collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Peter Repeater raced wide on the first turn checking Oxygen Bandit. Make Us Magic was checked off One More Des approaching the home turn. Fear Fire was checked off Make Us Magic on the home turn. Peter Repeater raced wide on the home turn.
Meeting Comments:
Stewards noted that the split in the back straight (1st split for 315m) failed to capture a time for races 1-6, these splits were subsequently hand timed.
Satisfactory trial results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Bailey the trainer of Aeroplane Kenny regarding the length of time since the reyhound last raced. Aeroplane Kenny last raced on 25/10/15. Mr. Bailey stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a hock injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A Aeroplane Kenny trialled over 315 metres from box 8, weight 33.5kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.12 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 2.25 lengths. Aeroplane Kenny was cleared.
Satisfactory trial results:- Arvo's Leo trialled over 395 metres from box 1, weight 31.7kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.83 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 19.25 lengths. Arvo's Leo was not cleared.
Satisfactory trial results (GAR 77A) and weight trial - Stewards spoke to Mrs. K. Gorman the trainer of Maserati Rev regarding the length of time since the reyhound last raced. Maserati Rev last raced on 11/10/15. Mrs. Gorman stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an unknown injury and a change of kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A Maserati Rev trialled over 395 metres from box 3, weight 32.4kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.83 secs, the greyhound won by a margin of 6.5 lengths. Maserati Rev was cleared.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Carrodus-Nagy and reminded him of his responsibilities to not take drinks into the restricted wash bay area.
