Dame Oregano was quick to begin. Claretown Boris, Destini Wahoo and Mad Mellman were slow to begin. Destini Wahoo and Nawala Ginto collided approaching the first turn checking Destini Wahoo. Mad Mellman faltered approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result. Destini Wahoo and Mercy Me collided approaching the home turn. Dame Oregano and Destini Dolphin collided on the home turn. Mercy Me raced wide in the home straight. Mercy Me checked off Dame Oregano in the home straight.
Mad Mellman was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
