Paragon Diamond, Crymelon Orbit and Bigboy Brownless were slow to begin and collided soon after the start checking Paragon Diamond and Crymelon Orbit. Barcia Beebee checked off Parisian Magic soon after the start. Chubba Chops checked off Parisian Magic approaching the first turn checking We Froff Dat. We Froff Dat and Bigboy Brownless collided on the first turn severely checking We Froff Dat. Barcia Beebee and Bigboy Brownless collided approaching the home turn severely checking Bigboy Brownless. Bigboy Brownless and We Froff Dat collided on the home turn checking We Froff Dat and Crymelon Orbit. Paragon Diamond raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Chubba Chops raced wide in the home straight.
Bigboy Brownless was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Satisfactory Trial Results
Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Jordan, the trainer of the greyhound Knight Ice regarding the length of time since the greyhound last races. Knight Ice last raced on 9th November 2015. Ms. Jordan stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Knight Ice trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 28.0kgs (new-declared weight). The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 22.17. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.25 lengths. Knight Ice was cleared.
Zelemar Zing trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 3, weight 30.6kgs. The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 22.17. The greyhound won by a margin of 3.25 lengths. Zelemar Zing was cleared.
