Hoi Polloi was quick to begin.  Senni Bones was slow to begin and lost ground soon after the start.  Cosmic George crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Forever Loved, Ima Terror and Ringadingding.  Forever Loved checked off Cosmic George approaching the first turn.  Hoi Polloi and Avatar Helga collided on the first turn checking Hoi Polloi, Cosmic George, Von Schnitzel and Ima Terror and severely checking Senni Bones.  Senni Bones and Avatar Helga raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.  Hoi Polloi and Ringadingding collided approaching the winning post checking Hoi Polloi and Forever Loved.

Following this event, Senni Bones was directed to be vetted.  The trainer, Mr. W. Innes took the greyhound from the course without permission from Stewards.  Stewards contacted trainer Mr. Innes by telephone and directed him to return to the track to have the greyhound vetted.  Stewards issued Mr. Innes with a reminder of his responsibilities in ensuring that he checks the Permission to Leave the Course sheet prior to leaving.

Senni Bones was vetted following event 12.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Jordan, the trainer of the greyhound Knight Ice regarding the length of time since the greyhound last races.  Knight Ice last raced on 9th November 2015.  Ms. Jordan stated that the greyhound was returning to race after being on season.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Knight Ice trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 28.0kgs (new-declared weight).  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.17. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.25 lengths.  Knight Ice was cleared.

Zelemar Zing trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 3, weight 30.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 22.17. The greyhound won by a margin of 3.25 lengths.  Zelemar Zing was cleared.
