A pre-race sample was taken from Yeah Whatever upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Senor Laurie was slow to begin. Aston Ryder checked off Jailor Bale soon after the start. Minute River checked of Noonbarra Joe approaching the first turn. Senor Laurie galloped on the heels of Minute River on the first turn, checking Senor Laurie, Minute River and Aston Ryder. Cudgee Destroyer and Noonbarra Joe collided approaching the home turn, checking Cudgee Destroyer, Noonburra Joe and Minute River, Minute River faltered and lost gound as a result. Senor Laurie raced wide approaching the home turn, checking Aston Ryder. Cudgee Destroyer checked off Noonbarra Joe approaching the home turn. Yeah Whatever and Senor Laurie raced wide in the home straight.
Minute River was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a sixty day stand down period was imposed.
