Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Hopper, the trainer of They Watch regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. They Watch last raced on the 18/12/15. Mr. Hopper stated that the greyhound was returning to race following a right shoulder injury.
Stewards spoke to Ms. L Smith, the representative of Nova Bell regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Nove Bell last raced on the 24/2/16. Ms. Smith stated that the greyhound was returning to race following an injury to the right hind toe.
A pre-race sample was taken from They Watch.
Rick Grimes was slow to begin. Aggi Den, Nobu and Nova Bell collided soon after the start, checking Nobu and Nova Bell. Jumbo Jack and They Watch collided approaching the first turn, checking Jumbo Jack. Princess Jasmine and Aggi Den collided on the first turn, severely checking Moreira Magic, Aggi Den and Rick Grimes; causing Princess Jasmine and Nova Bell to fall as a result. Moreira Magic, Aggi Den and Rick Grimes lost ground on the first turn. Aggi Den and Princess Jasmine raced wide in the home straight.
Princess Jasmine was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left shoulder and left triangle, a three day stand down period was imposed.
Aggi Den was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right metatarsal sprain, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
Nova Bell was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Rick Grimes was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apprent injury found.
