Call Me Gee and Deadset Jet were slow to begin. Bills Back, Lektra Blicavs and Jackie Baxter collided on the first turn, checking Lektra Blicavs, Jackie Baxter, Call Me Gee and Deadset Jet. Deadset Jet contacted with the running rail approaching the home turn. Call Me Gee checked off Ay Goodes approaching the home turn. Zoltina's Prize and Call Me Gee raced wide in the home straight.
Deadset Jet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, abrasions to the left front nail bed, left elbow and left hock, and a graze to the left thigh, a twenty-one day stand down period was imposed.
