A pre-race sample was taken from Oshkosh Erny Vee.
Cibulkova was quick to begin. Dyna Naitch went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Oshkosh Erny Vee was slow to begin.
Tobacco Leaf, Roger Express and Uni Allen collided soon after the start, checking Tobacco Leaf and Roger Express. Oshkosh Erny Vee crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Dyna Naitch and Maestro Destini. Tobacco Leaf checked off Uni Allen approaching the first turn. Alpha Themis and Uni Allen collided on the first turn, checking Uni Allen and Tobacco Leaf. Dyna Naitch and Uni Allen collided on the second turn, checking both greyhounds. Dyna Naitch checked off Alpha Themis on the second turn. Dyna Naitch and Tobacco Leaf collided entering the home turn and again in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.
Tobacco Leaf was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right pectoral (chest) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr Vince Tullio, the kennel representative of Tobacco Leaf, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight.
