Dirk Bale checked off Midnight Kebab on the first turn, checking Delta Bad Hand. Bound After Gold contacted the running rail on the first turn, severely checking Bound After Gold and Hillbilly Boy. Rockoon checked off Lektra Stomp on the first turn. Rockoon and Lektra Stomp collided on the second turn, checking Lektra Stomp. Lektra Stomp checked off Midnight Kebab on the third turn.

Bound After Gold was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right pectoral (chest) and left long head triceps (monkey) muscles, and sand toe. A five-day stand down period was imposed.

Lektra Stomp was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Carl Schlensog, the kennel representative of Lektra Stomp, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the back straight and on the third turn. Further, Stewards requested that anything that is subsequently noted by the trainer which may have affected today's performance is to be reported to Stewards forthwith, under the provisions of GAR75.

Hillbilly Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
