Chichi Bale and Amy Bale were quick to begin. Renew, Gaza's Rooster and Trademark Jan collided approaching the first turn, checking Gaza's Rooster, Trademark Jan and Amaroo Bazinga. Amaroo Bazinga raced wide as a result. Chichi Bale and Amy Bale collided in the front straight. Trademark Jan and Amaroo Bazinga collided on the second turn. Chichi Bale, Renew and Gaza's Rooster collided entering the back straight, checking Chichi Bale and Gaza's Rooster. Trademark Jan checked off Amaroo Bazinga on the fourth turn.
