Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr John Paraskevas, the trainer of Magic Diamond, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Magic Diamond last raced on 14th January 2017. Mr Paraskevas stated that the greyhound had been recovering from a dropped back muscle.
Lorian Victory and Last Princess were slow to begin.
Patchie Thief, King Of Merrimu and Dee Jay Dancer collided soon after the start. Lorian Victory and Dee Jay Dancer collided on the first turn. King Of Merrimu checked off Patchie Thief on the second turn, causing King Of Merrimu to race wide. King Of Merrimu checked off Patchie Thief on the third turn. Magic Diamond and Last Princess collided on the home turn.
King Of Merrimu was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right castrocnemius (calf) muscle. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
